I think this is quite a bouncy little tune.

If they made a movie bout you and me
It would go straight to DVD
Though the music’s good, but the acting’s not
There ain’t no dialogue and there ain’t no plot

If they made a film about me and you
It would never get a good review
You act so smooth in the steamy scenes
But there ain’t no fire you don’t know what it means

The movie of you and me would go straight to DVD
The story of you and me would go straight to DVD

Would it be a movie bout love or war
We don’t even know what we’re fighting for
It was sometimes good and sometimes great
But mostly now it’s like a boring date

The movie of you and me would go straight to DVD
The story of you and me would go straight to DVD

Now there are no surprises the temperature rarely rises
Maybe we’re just pretending there’ll be a happy ending

If they made a movie bout you and me
It would go straight to DVD
Though the music’s good but the acting’s not
There ain’t no dialogue and there ain’t no plot

The movie of you and me would go straight to DVD
The story of you and me would go straight to DVD

I love the lines: It was sometimes good and sometimes great, but mostly now it's like a boring date. Who hasn't been there?
I really like this song, just a regular pop song with a simple story. :approve:

I've received IYWAS single last Friday, so I've been listening A LOT to it and in particular to this song, and I really love it! It brings life back when you're a little tired or bored :woohoo:

Bouncy is definately the word to describe this tune. Good pop song that goes down well and leaves you happy. Not a great song but good all the same. I like!!! :D :D :D

I looooooooooooooooove that song. For me, this is a prove, that Katie can also do amazingly great in singing a Pop song.

Like it, not that bad. :P I would not put it on my favourites list, but from time to time I like listening to it.

The other great lines in this song are: 'Now there are no surprises, the temperature rarely rises'

What I want to know (at the risk of going wildly off-topic) is: doesn't that happen with all relationships? I desperately hope not, but the form book says otherwise. :(

Please don't go off-topic. If you want you can open a new topic in the Chit-Chat. Here please only about the song.

I understand all the song as a boring relationship, which is almost at the end, where nobody speak to each other.

I never liked this song at the start, but I kinda just gave it a chance and found it to be a decent enough b-side, far better than Junk Mail anyhow. But maybe not good enough to dislodge one of the album songs, apart from bloody Mary Pickford.

With the title, it has its place on the album, but there'd be need to take off a non-movie song...

WIMAY?

No way :D

Sorry if I frightened you KEWA

Anyone know if Straight to DVD was going to be on the album when it was deemed a concept album, but was then dropped?

I think it would have held its own on Pictures anyway. Not so on COTS and PbP.

No way. WIMAY is a blockbuster anyway:

But for me no mind as a B-Side or on the Album. STDVD is a great pop song. I wonder, whet would have happened, if that song would have been the A-Side of an undependent Single. Would it have had chances in the charts? I think, yes. It is a great pop song.

Forgot to comment on this song

This is not an album track, they've made the right choice

Straight to single as a B side
