The lyrics:

----------------------------------------------------------

Pungent smells They consummate my home,
Beyond the black horizon trying to take control,
See my girl, she shivers in her bones,
The sun and zenith rising trying to take us all.

There’s a fire between us,
So where is your god?
There’s a fire between us.

I can’t get off the carousel,
I can’t get off the carousel,
I can’t get off the carousel,
I can’t get off the world.

The sickening taste of homophobic jokes,
Images of fascist votes,
Beam me up cause I can’t breathe.

Spaceman, I always wanted you to go,
Into space man.
Spaceman, I always wanted you to go,
Into space man.

It’s time to terminate the great wide world,
Morbid fascinations, television takes control,
Decimation different races fall,
Electronic information tampers with your soul.

There’s a fire beetween us,
So where is your god?
There’s a fire beetween us.

I can’t get off the carousel,
I can’t get off the carousel,
I can’t get off the carousel,
I can’t get off the world.

The sickening taste of homophobic jokes,
Images of fascist votes,
Beam me up cause I can’t breathe.

Spaceman, I always wanted you to go,
Into space man.
Spaceman, I always wanted you to go,
Into space man.

Spaceman, I always wanted you to go,
Into space man.
Spaceman, I always wanted you to go,
Into space man.

Spaceman, spaceman, spaceman, spaceman, spaceman.

Spaceman, I always wanted you to go,
Into space man.
Spaceman, I always wanted you to go,
Into space man.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Katie's performance:

And the oryginal version by Babylon Zoo:

Nice Katie's gig but actually i prefer the oryginal version. Btw, thanks to Katie for enlightening me that this song exists :)

Very cool cover. I like her cover much more, but I’m addicted so that doesn’t count. :P

Same for me... The only way that I can prefer the original version if that it's Katie who sings it :D

That song is great. I've listened to it at least 10 times a day during last week :)

It has such an amazing dose of enegry in it that it galvanizes me! And it still plays in my mind again and again and again :)

Katie shows here her abilities to became a rock singer, just like in "Kozmic Blues" and even though i wouldn't like her to go precisly that way i really admire her for this performance.

Perfect piece of music!

I liked the original when it first came out in 1996. As time went by, I perceived the song more as guilty pleasure but upon hearing Katie's version, I was surpised how good and deep the lyrics were. This cover all but rescued the track and actually showed that it's quite an intelligent tune.

PS: The best version of the song is the one she performed in Sheffield (2006). Clear from start to finish and enrapturing. 8-) 8-) 8-)

I love this song! It was playing in my mind today while passing my driving test and i succeeded in doing that! :D This one is my lucky one :D

Thanks to JosCR66 for adding the link.
Actually i don't agree with you guys that this version is better/the best. It's more clear as you said but there isn't so much energy. I don't feel like Katie experiances it so much as in the one i added. The Sheffield's one abandons this mad a bit punk-rock style of the oryginal Babylon Zoo's performance. I don't want to say that Katie is not allowed to show us her own interpretation but i miss this power of oryginal one... "Use the force Katie".

I really love this cover.. I think it's an amazing song, especially the way Katie brings it..
And besides that, the guitar she uses in this performance is so cool!! I would really love to have one like that.. wow!

IMHO Katie has an unbelieveable power in the song and the way she sings it fits much better to the lyrics.

I have to say: listening to this song on the 'Moment by Moment'-DVD it made me very curious to take a look at the original from Babylon Zoo.

So I searched for it on the internet and really found a video on youtube. I began to watch the video and listened to the music   imagine: I never shutdown my Internet Explorer as quick as this moment ;)

So for me is Katies version definitely the right one :approve:

Yes,  the original is weird, but I do like it too. but Katie's version is 1000 times better. I remember in 2006 in the concert in Freiburg, when I first heard it. I was blown away!!!
