well i'm so tired of cryin' but i'm out on the road again
i'm on the road again.
well i'm so tired of cryin' but i'm out on the road again
i'm on the road again.
i ain't got nobody just to call my special friend.

you know the first time i travelled out in the rain and snow
in the rain and snow.
you know the first time i travelled out in the rain and snow
in the rain and snow.
i didn't have no payroll, not even no place to go.

and my dear mother left me when i was quite young
when i was quite young.
and my dear mother left me when i was quite young
when i was quite young.
she said "lord have mercy on my wicked one".

well now take it from me mama please don't you cry no more
don't you cry no more.
take a hint from me mama please don't you cry no more
don't you cry no more.
cause it's soon one morning down the road i'll go.

no i ain't going down that long old lonesome road
all by myself.
no i ain't going down that long and lonesome road
all by myself.
if you ain't coming with me,
gonna take somebody else.

well, i'm so tired of crying,
but i'm out on the road again,
i ain't got nobody,
just to call my special friend,

I should stop characterizing her songs, but for OTRA my opinion is the same as for MAIY and the Mockingbird song.. :P
Live great, album more or less OK.
Yep, whenever I hear this song on the Moment by Moment DVD, I catch myself turning up the volume when the guitar solo is played.. Pretty cool guitar!

A great driving song that simply sounds astounding live. Katie clearly enjoys this track, as she literally let her hair down while performing it. KEWA is right by saying that at the moment this is Katie's live song.

Agree with all that! My latest favourite version is the Berlin iTunes concert. She really gives it some in that! :D

Yesterday I played the live version from Paris of OTRA to a friend, who is a huge Hard RocK fan. he answered: "I didn't know, that Melua is a Rock beast! Great Song"

Now he wants a copy to show it to his friends.

This is the great problem many, many people only know Katies slower songs (I don't know who has gave her the name 'Queen Of Ballads' :? :? ) They would wonder when they see her life :approve:

There is an advertisment in Austria who uses the intro of 'OTRA' but I don't know if it is from Katie or if it is the original version.

I asked once SWR3 to play OTRA live from the Moment by Moment DVD and they answered, that it is hard to put a song directly from a DVD, but if there would be a live album, they would love to do it.

roland posted in his opening post a video of this song. the last time im "youtubing" a lot and i found a video of katie melua and max mutzke at tv total (max mutzke was the opening act of her tour and you can see him in the video of rolands post at the guitar. there they performed OTRA as a duet. heres the hole video:

i downloaded this vid and i cut out the duet and uploaded it on rapidshare.com. heres the link:

http://rapidshare.com/files/130048129/01_-_Katie_Melua___Max_Mutzke_-_On_the_Road_again.mp3

this duet has only a duration of 2:32 min and the original OTRA a duration of 4:38 but i like the duet very much :strum:

(i hope that my english is not too bad :? )

Funny, in my new mobil, I have the possibility to use MP3 as ringtone. Every day another Katie song. Today it is OTRA Live in Paris. When I was in lab, suddenly my mobile rang and a friend of mine, who is not so much a friend of Katie (yes, sometimes I faail !!), asked me: "What, no Katie ringtone?". When I told him, it is Katie live, he didn't believe until i showed him the complete song. Now he wants to borrow my CD with the total concert!!!
