the first time that i saw you
i said for goodness sake
that man's got the power
he's a charmer with a snake
i was thrille and fascinated
but somehow liberated,
when you took me to a place i'd never been.
you showed me lots of things i'd never seen

you set me free
as if you'd taken me,
halfway up the hindu kush
and i love you,
for showing me the view
from halfway up the hindu kush

the next time that i saw you, you looked into my eyes
i was sitting on your carpet when i felt it begin to rise.
i kinda got the feeling,
i was floating to the ceiling,
instead of only looking at the sky
you picked me up and showed me how to fly.

you set me free, as if you'd taken me,
halfway up the hindu kush
and i love you
for showing me the view,
from halfway up the hindu kush

from halfway up the hindu,
from halfway up the hindu,
from halfway up the hindu kush.

you set me free, as if you'd taken me,
halfway up the hindu kush
and i love you,
for showing me the view,
from halfway up the hindu kush.
halfway up the hindu kush

A song I didn't love when I listenned to it at first. But after more listenning time, I think it's a really cool song 8-) I don't often feel that atmosphere in Katie's songs, and the result is good so :music:   :woohoo:

It's not one of my favourites. It just doesn't fit the Katie profile that I like to imagine (too suggestive) although in reality I'm sure she likes a good double entendre like the rest of us.
Has she ever sung it live does anyone know?

I like this song very, very much. She sang it live throughout her world PbyP tour in 2006.

I remeber when she sang it at Wembley Arena in December of 2006: she acknowledged the double entendre by saying that because her mother was in attendance the song was NOT about sex!!!!
Overall is quite a nice tune with a good melody, but not extraordinary.

Actually it could be about anything in a relationship IMO...

It is rather an antypical song from Katie. For me the song has it's ups and downs. First I only liked it, but not loved it, that hearing it Live in 2006, I lreally oved it. Now I also see the song rather average in my ranking of Katie's songs.

But average in your ranking means great, so I agree :D

I find this song very interesting. A cool song to listen to, that's for sure. Me and one of the friends had a long conversation about it in the math lesson today. She also had her opinions of what the song was about, but I told her what I knew and we had a good laugh.
