One of my favourite golden oldie Katie covers.

(Words by Nat Burton, music by Walter Kent, 1941)
There'll be bluebirds over
The white cliffs of Dover,
Tomorrow
Just you wait and see.

There'll be joy and laughter
And peace ever after,
Tomorrow
When the world is free,

The shepherd will count his sheep
The valleys will bloom again,
And Jimmy will go to sleep
In his own little room again,

There'll be bluebirds over
The white cliffs of Dover,
Tomorrow
Just you wait and see.

One of my absolute favourites. I really love this song. I´m sad that she played this song only one time (am I right ?) and that it was never published on one of her CD´s.

To the best of my knowledge that is true.

A brilliant song. This one should be released some day in some sort of "lost recording box"

Last year I spend my holiday in the UK. I used the channel tunnel between Calais and Folkestone, when I drove through Dover, guess what song I played in the car? :approve:

I absolutely love this song. Katie sings it so well, and I think that it is one of my favourite of her songs. I can't remember where I put it in my list. I remember listening to it for the first time lying on my bed, and I loved the part where her voice went high on the "blue birds over...".

Sorry I have to sound a discordant note here. I seem to remember talking about this before but it's quite right that Katie sang this once only. It's unarguably Vera Lynn's song and always will be. The only other singer that could lay claim to it is Katherine Jenkins who sang it as a duet with Vera at the VE Day celebrations in Trafalgar Square.
Vera kind of handed the mantle of 'forces sweetheart' on to her that night.
Katie sings it beautifully of course but I'm sure she only ever saw it as a one-off.

I´m going Halfway up the Hindu Kush with this statement (my 500th post):
It may have been a one-off, but she pull it off really well. I love the fact that you can hear the audience in this one, which gives the song some added power. Really nice!!! :approve:

Absolutely amazing song. I do hope, that Katie releases that song one day.

For me also very underrated in our ranking.

It's Vera Lynn's song and I'm sure Katie would say the same. I shouldn't think she'll ever release it.

Couldn't thank you enough Barbara, I'm listenning to the video you sent me two days ago and I'm fond of it. This performance is just perfect, I am so amazed. Nothing superfluous, just pure beauty and a heavenly voice. I won't spend my life waiting for an angel to descend, he's already here...

I didn't make a comment at first because I didn't know the song, but I'm very happy that I do know it now, because it's just brilliant, it's like sweets for the ears :music:
