Lyrics

Said the night wind to the little lamb,
"Do you see what I see?
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
Do you see what I see?
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite,
With a tail as big as a kite."

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,
"Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,
Do you hear what I hear?
A song, a song high above the trees
With a voice as big as the the sea,
With a voice as big as the the sea."

Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
"Do you know what I know?
In your palace warm, mighty king,
Do you know what I know?
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold--
Let us bring him silver and gold,
Let us bring him silver and gold."

Said the king to the people everywhere,
"Listen to what I say!
Pray for peace, people, everywhere,
Listen to what I say!
The Child, the Child sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light,
He will bring us goodness and light."

A rather unknown song, I think. Katie performed it in a church a few years ago. I don't know when and I don't know where.

I didn't find any youtube-video, so I can only offer a mp3 download for all who didn't know it yet:

http://www.filefactory.com/file/6a25eb/ ... I_hear_mp3

Btw: I almost forgot to say that I like the song very much :approve:

Thanks Patrick for helping me out to create the missing songs topics :clap:

This song was the last one, I hadn't discovered yet since recently.

Not one of my favorites, but still a pleasure to my ears

That is the one and only Katie song, which I really don't like. I tried it several times, but I can't get into it, i.e. it doesn't tough me, as all other songs. Not even Katie's divine voice gets me.

Do you really think it´s worse than "blue shoes" or "looking for clues"? :scratch: :scratch:

That's where I beat Kewa, I really like all Katie songs :lol: (except some parts where Katie doesn't sing :P)

I can't say it's one of my favourite, but I like hearing it :)

I tried it once more. O.K. it is not bad, but it doesn't have the magic like all other songs, Katie sings.

@Pablo: :rofl: :rofl:
@Francois: :joker: :joker:
@Ronald: Thank you, my friend

It's certainly not one of her best songs, we can agree on that ;)

I don't know what you have against it, I love that song. :music: OK, it's not in my personal Top20 either, but still it's great.

Such a pretty little Xmas song. It has for a long time been a favourite of mine and so a friend gave me a copy of her [Katie's] singing it live a few months ago. I love the sweetness of her voice on this version I have, along with the simple acoustic sound she makes with her guitar. But has she recorded an official version of the song, or is it just the live performance?

You seem to be a little disappointed with 'Do You Hear What I Hear'. For me it's Ok. Notice that there is only one instrument in this performance so it might disqualify the song a bit. and the melody is the same every 1 minute so it's not as various as the other Katie's. After all it's quite nice Christmas song, i could find worse performe by KM than this one ;)

I think there´s only this live performance and unfortunately no studio-version.

I heard this song almost all through the festive holidays: a simple tune with Katie doing a sweet and beautiful delivery. Very nice indeed.

Yesterday I fell asleep while hearing it. That doesn't mean that I don't like it. I agree with Lepton: It's a good song but not in my Top 20.
