Lyrics:

Dancing cat and dancing mouse
Down behind the Hyatt House
You don't need no food to eat
All you need is two bare feet

Clock-house cuckoos drinking wine
Racing through those traffic signs
But walking out on Lazy Street
All you need is two bare feet

Two, two, two bare feet
Two, two, two bare feet

Crocodiles of sun-soaked kids
In sexy sandals, heaven forbid.
For kisses good enough to eat
all u need is two bare feet

Two, two, two bare feet
Two, two, two bare feet

Dancing cat and dancing mouse
Down behind the Hyatt House
You don't need no food to eat
All you need is two bare feet

Two, two, two bare feet
Two, two, two bare feet

Crazy cat and crazy mouse
Down behind the Hyatt House!
Two, two, two bare feet
Two, two, two bare feet
Two, two, two bare feet
Two, two, two bare feet

Catchy, jazzy and very upbeat. Katie definately need one of these in her repertoire. Good addition to an already fine canon. :approve: :music:

Yep, it's gonna be on her new album/collection.

I like the video, it's really good. I think the song is kind of different from her other songs (and videos), but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I might have to listen to it a few times before I can tell you exactly what I think :D

i think it's not katie nor a double... this person has shorter hair, but anyway, katie just sings and dances alone in her black dress throughout the whole clip

I don't think it's her, would be quite a surprise to me.

I thought about that, too. But I highly doubt it's her :)

I just love this!! :approve:

I have to say, I am really looking forward to see what Katie will do on a new album, without Mike Batt.
My guess is that it will be more jazzy blues :approve:

The girl with the white mask, I doubt that is Katie.
Katie is not that a big dancer... just my oppionion

I love it!

IMHO this is just the kind of thing Katie should be releasing as a single. While I love some of her ballads, in the UK at least, a song like this is MUCH more likely to get radio airplay, which results in sales for the single, which means more airplay, and so it continues. While the ultimate aim is to sell more albums, having a single that gets airplay is the start of it.

Does anyone know whether Katie, Mike or someone else wrote it?

According to Mike Batt’s latest blog (24/09) the song "Two Bare Feet" is a co-write between Mike and Katie.

Anyway, this song sounds very unusual and different compared to Katie’s style of music so far. Personally I’m not that enthusiastic about it and haven’t get used to this song yet. And I'm not sure I will ever. :? Sorry Katie!

Well I must be in a minority because I don't like it at all. I really hope she doesn't go down this route. To me it makes her voice sound so ordinary and at times just bad. I quite like the song but her voice doesn't suit it.
In her own style for me she is world class. Singing some of these songs makes her sound so ordinary.
I played it to my 13 year old daughter and all her school friends and they all hate it so I guess top 50 would be a result.
I hope I grow to like it in the same way as I did Kosmic blues. At first I didn't like that but now I love it. What worries me is that its not really right to try and get to like a song just because it is song by your favourite singer/person. It's also not possible to be so in love with every song she sings.
Sorry Kewa I just don't buy it that you like every song.
The only kind thing I can say is it is definately still better than Blue shoes.

Sorry everybody

Don't apologize for speaking your mind! ;)

I don't think she will go 'down this route', or any other 'route' people sometimes suggest, because her music has always been much too varied for that. She may at times be more influenced by this or that and make a couple of songs that resemble each other, but I don't think she'll ever settle for just one type of song. That's one of the reasons why (and I just can't press this point too strongly) she is very different from Norah Jones :P

kind of the same here, I actually feel kind of disappointed in a way...I don´t know but I had something totally different in mind when I heard the title. As colliewhip said..I don´t really seem to hear Katie.

That´s what I thought too.
I absolutely love Kozmic Blues, I actually thought she would go more that way, but this seems to be so different from everything, can´t say i like it very much from the first listen. mmhhhh... :?

The Video strongly reminds me of Outkast's "The whole world",
because it has this kind of a Circus atmosphere.

the Song reminds me of KT Tunstall's "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree",
and Amy MacDonald's "This is the Life"!
Why? Well, I think it is because of the rhythm...

Not bad! :music: It's much better than her Song's like "Looking for Clues"!!!

Listen to the song without watching the video (for example reduce the window of your browser down to the taskbar). This advice helped me with so many other songs and it helped me also with 'Two Bare feet' :music: :music:

BTW, I humed the refrain the whole afternoon :approve: :approve:
