Wow, I can't believe there is still no topic about that song. It's certainly one of the very underrated songs, it's quite low in our song ranking but to me, it's a wonderful song, very emotional, very melancholic. At first, I didn't like it very much, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it. :music:

As far as I know, it's the only of her songs written by Justin Sandercoe, right?

Here the youtube video: (thanks to Barbara for uploading it  )

Lyrics:

I turn to tell him things
I still make tea for two
I keep the kitchen clean
The way he’d want me to
Start again, but I’m not ready to move on
‘Cos I still turn to tell him, I love him
But he's gone

I miss the mess he made
Of my head when we fought
Over such silly things
I wish we could have talked
A little more, spoke instead of screamed
‘Cos when I turn to tell him, I love him
He’s just a dream

I lost the second chance
When fate led time away
I keep his picture close
So his memory won’t fade
Alive in me, forever with my soul
So when I turn to tell him, I love him
I think he knows

It isn’t underrated cos we all agree it’s good isn’t it :P
Have to say that I prefer Katie’s version to Justin’s, but thanks for writing such a great song Justin!

Well, in the ranking it's on No.58, which is much too low. At least by 15-20 ranks. It's not the worst underrated song (those are Learnin' the blues and Straight to DVD, in my opinion at least), but still it is underrated.

Oh really? Sorry then, I thought the general consensus was that it’s one of her best B sides! We should definitely vote for it then.

I do looooooooooooooooooooove that song. There is so much melancholy in it and Katie voice is just divine. For me a clear all time Katie classic.

Thanks for putting that topic, Lepton

It's tooooo slow, and has nothing what other Katie songs do have, I can't explain

Although I like her slow songs the most like piece by piece and I cried for you

I think, for me it is the melancholy, what most touches me in that song and for sure, the way Katie sings it. It is a perfect song for such autumn days.

justin did a great job, the lyrics are simple but very poignant and Katie of course did a great job in singing it so...just right.... It´s like it was made for her, absolutely perfect.

For me it's a song, I simply fall into. I can almost see Katie making tea for two. Its very melancholic, but it builds you up, when your down.

It's funny to read my own comments from a while ago...

I've given this song a few listenings lately, and I take back the lines mentioned above

It is a lovely song after all :music:

It's my favourite form the beginning. It sounds as some of a film masterpiece. :approve:
It isn't necessary to close its eyes in order to see these scenes in order to feel this atmosphere :D

For me it is just a masterpiece. It is so much emotion in it. So much feeling, so much melancholy.

When Katie sings

I miss the mess he made
Of my head when we fought
Over such silly things
I wish we could have talked
A little more, spoke instead of screamed
‘Cos when I turn to tell him, I love him
He’s just a dream

it brings the tears into my eyes. Katie is just divine!!!

Maybe it just needed a special situation or state of mind to make a "clic".
Well that what happened to me.
The pain was deeper than usual and that song really made me cried and shout.
I don't remember having been under such emotions.

The only tinny problem with that song...
everytime i hear it i can't stop thinking about that event.
But one day i'll be able to listen ot it again without no tears.

btw it was n°69 last month, but won some publicity recently, so let's see if it will rise up a little next this month...

Yes, I do. This is a song, you can only hear, when you are 100% concentrated in it. Than you fell the beauty of the song. It reaches your soul.

It is a special song not "usually" it won't be sufficient for it to listen it, is necessary to hear it.. in oneself.. and not to be ashamed of tears
